MEET THE BAND

SAVANNAH

Lead Vocals, Occasional Tambourine

A close friend once described Savannah’s voice as “Janis Joplin mixed with Whitney Houston”. (No pressure!) She will tell you that is definitely an exaggeration but she is grateful for the compliment. The feedback she receives frequently includes references to artists like Janis and requests to sing songs by Heart and Led Zeppelin. A Sioux Falls native, she was a reserved “choir geek” in high school and didn’t even sing karaoke until she was in her mid-20’s! With no formal training outside of high school, Savannah got her chops by singing along with legendary 90’s icons like Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, and En Vogue. Her well-rounded musical taste comes from loving a little bit of everything as a kid; her influences range from Aerosmith to Garth Brooks, Tupac to Eric Clapton, and everything in between.

TED

Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Director of Operations

Ted is a self-taught, southpaw guitarist whose primary influences include Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers Band, early Black Keys, and ZZ Top to name a few. In addition to his skillful guitar playing, Ted frequently receives compliments on the exceptional, authentic tone he achieves. Born and raised in Rapid City, SD, he played trumpet from 5th grade through High School and picked up his first guitar at age 23. His contributions to the band go beyond the stage – he has been a driving force behind our ability to provide professional-level production and keep the show running behind the scenes. He and Nate have spent countless hours programming lights, perfecting sound, and fabricating equipment to streamline load-in and load-out. Whiskey helped.

NATE

The Drummer, the Plumber, and the Director of Human Resources

Nate is a regional man of mystery. He politely requested that we use this scene from “Half Baked” as his bio. We’re inclined to oblige.
First of all, to understand what happened to Killer, you gotta understand who Killer the dog WAS. Now Killer was born to a three-legged bitch mother. And he was always ashamed of this, man. And then right after that, he's adopted by this man, Tito Liebowitz. He's a small-time gunrunner and, uh, Rottweiler fight promoter. So he puts Killer into training, next thing you know Killer's GOOD! He is DAMN good! But then, he had the fight of his life. They pit him against his brother Nibbles. And Killer said, "No, man, that's my brother, I can't fight Nibbles!" And he made him fight anyway. And then, Killer Killed Nibbles. And Killer said, "That's it!" And he called off all his fights, and he started doing crack, and he FREAKED OUT. And then in a rage, he collapsed, and his heart... no longer beat. Wow.
